Growing up in Ohio, my parents were active in real estate. They built apartment buildings and had a rental company, so I would do clean-outs and property inspections. This early education and experience provided me with a lifelong passion for real estate and working with people.
After graduating college and earning a commission as a 2LT, I went into the Army and retired as an LTC after 22 years. While in the military I travelled the world and Lawton was our base. In 1992 my wife and I purchased our first Lawton home from Pam Marion and this began the relationship and friendship that we still share today. Before getting my real estate license, my wife and I had purchased several rental properties all through the P&B Team. They subsequently would manage our rentals; This experience as a client made me confident that Pam and Barry’s Team was the only place for me to sell real estate.
Since 2006, I have been a Buyer and Listing Specialist on the Team and have helped hundreds of clients in buying and/or selling their homes. The two best compliments I can receive is for a client to give me a referral to their friends and family and selling the same property multiple times. This happens because once you buy through me and the Team, you become part of the P&B family and I want your experience to keep you coming back for all of your real estate needs.
With my military and real estate background I know the stresses of purchasing or selling a home in all the varied market conditions. From my perspective, my most important responsibility is to make sure my clients have realistic expectations of the process and are knowledgeable and understand negotiations. If a buyer or seller has this education from the start, it translates into you finding your new home more quickly and with the least amount of stress possible. I enjoy working with all types of buyers, from the first-time buyer to the seasoned investor, to the couple looking for their forever home. I find myself able to relate to all these types of clients because I have been in each of their shoes in my life.
Supporting the community is paramount to my love of helping people and I am active in many committees advocating enhancement and bettering the quality of life of Lawtonians. I served as the President of the Lawton Rotary Club 2012 to 2013 and was President of the Lawton Board of Realtors in 2019 and currently am a founding committee member of Children United, with a vision and mission to build an all-inclusive handicap accessible playground.
On a personal note, my wife and I have been married over 34 years, we have two children and three grandchildren. We enjoy spending time with family and friends as much as possible and feel very blessed to be part of this wonderful community. Surrounding Lawton is a heartland rich with streams, ponds and lakes that provide me ample opportunities to pursue my love of hunting and fishing.
